Listen Well

Psalm 86:11 (TPT) Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name.

Beloved, listen well. And don’t just listen, but hear. For I have much to share with you, and there’s so much for you to learn. But that requires a heart both open and desirous of learning – so choose well.

To be more like Me, you must know Me. To walk in My ways, you must know My ways. It’s not simply enough for you to do what you believe is right, for your human perspective is limited, making your judgment imperfect. But I see things rightly, for I see and know all. So trust Me to lead. Trust Me to teach. And choose to listen well.

Psalm 86:9-12 (TPT) Lord Almighty, you are the one who created all the nations; Look at them—they’re all on their way! Yes, the day will come when they all will worship you and put your glory on display. You are the one and only God. What miracles! What wonders! What greatness belongs to you! Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name. With all my heart and passion I will thank you, my God! I will give glory to your name, always and forever!

Hold My Heart {Moments with God}

{Crying in my heart} Please hear me, Father. I feel weighed down in spirit and troubled in my heart. So in my distress I turn to You (just as I do in my joy). In confusion I will cling to You (because You’ll never steer me wrong). I don’t understand what is troubling me, or why I’m in despair. But this is the way You’ve wired me, and so I trust my heart in Your care.

{His whispered reply} You’re beautiful, My precious one, and I’ve made you flawlessly. My design for you is beautiful, even when it’s incomprehensible for you – still then I can clearly see exactly what I had in mind, and how I see it playing out. You are exactly as you should be, a gift to the world and a joy to Me. So let Me lavish My love upon you, and let My Spirit minister to your soul. Your heart is so precious to Me, thank you for trusting it to Me to hold.

Psalm 86:1 (ESV) Incline your ear, O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

Write the Vision

Revelation 21:5 (NLT) And the one sitting on the throne said, “Look, I am making everything new!” And then he said to me, “Write this down, for what I tell you is trustworthy and true.”

Beloved, listen to My voice and heed My direction. Make note of what I’m saying. For there will come a time when you look back and think, “Surely the Lord didn’t speak so clearly,” or “Surely He didn’t really tell me where we were going before we began.”

And yet beloved, I do just that. I want you to see My hand in your life. I want you to be confident you hear My voice. So write the vision and make it plain. Take note and see, precious one, that I AM speaking and you are listening. Continue reading “Write the Vision”

Listen for the Rain

1 Kings 18:41 (VOICE) Elijah (to Ahab): You should go fill your belly with food and water. I hear a heavy rain coming.

Beloved, remain in a place of expectation. Rest firmly in hope – hope in My goodness. Be still and listen. Know that I AM moving. Hold those expectations with an open hand, trusting My timing and My plans, but indeed be intentional to hope.

Be open and ready that you might not miss what I’m doing. So in the midst of the dry season – when the times of drought seem endless, listen for the rain. For you know rain will surely come, just as I bring day from night, surely you know I bring joy from mourning. So listen for the rain and await the breakthrough. My Spirit Brings Life

Genesis 8:11 (VOICE) This time the dove came back to him in the evening, and there, in its beak, was a freshly plucked olive leaf. So Noah knew then that the waters had begun to retreat from the land.

Beloved, My Spirit brings life. It brings hope. So wait on My Spirit for wisdom and direction. Trust Me to give a clear sign so you know which way to go. For I AM intentional and clear. I desire to be understood by you even more than you desire to understand.

So listen, and trust Me to lead. My sheep know My voice, and the nudging of My Holy Spirit is known to them. In love, obey. Then watch as life bursts forth and I bring you from glory unto glory, for you are Mine.

Embrace the Truth with Joy

Proverbs 12:15 (VOICE) Fools follow their own directions and think they are right, but wise people listen intently to advice.

Beloved, My sheep know My voice. So whether My breath flows from the mouth of a stranger, friend, child, or from heaven above, be wise enough to heed it. If you know Me, you will recognize My voice regardless of what vessel I use to deliver My words.

So remain humble and open. Strong convictions are good if they are rooted in Me, but, when founded in self-righteousness and pride, they are a stumbling block and an idol. If your beliefs are rooted in Me, they will not be shaken by humbly listening to those who would speak into your life.

Trust Me to lead. Trust Me to make truth clear. Be open to My direction and insight even if it challenges what you believe you know. For as you grow, I reveal more to you. I’m not changing, but as your ability to understand Me develops, so can I reveal new truths and aspects of My character that you might continue to grow. So be open and listen, and be ready to embrace the truth with joy.

Worth the Wait

Proverbs 8:34 (VOICE) The one who listens to me, who carefully seeks me in everyday things and delays action until my way is apparent, that one will find true happiness.

Beloved, wait on Me. I desire to be heard even more than you desire to hear Me. If you take the time to listen, I will ensure that I AM heard. For I love to share with My children. I love when you curl up at my feet – that intimacy is so sweet to Me. So press in, for I AM here.

Wait on My instruction, and listen to My voice. That is the path of blessing, and I will happily show the way. Resist the urge to presume My thoughts or to rely on your own wisdom. Instead, be intentional to wait on Me, for I AM worth the wait.

Listen with a Hearing Heart

1 Kings 3:12 (VOICE) I will honor your request. I have planted the deepest human wisdom into your heart. There has never been nor will there ever be a man like you.

Beloved, I listen. I hear every word spoken, and I weigh the value of each. That is an element of wisdom. And are you not made in My image? Therefore, you should do likewise. Listen well, and examine the truth and the value of that which is said.

For I have given you wisdom, and will grant you insight – if you make that your request. Seek to understand. Seek to be just. Exercise wisdom. Listen with a hearing heart. Be like Me.

Listening Heart

James 1:5 (NET) But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him.

Beloved, I will not rebuke you for an earnest request, though I may not choose to answer in the way you hoped. But trust Me to hear and respond in love, for My heart toward you is good and My love for you is unshakable.

So refuse to feel overwhelmed by what you don’t understand, and instead ask My Holy Spirit – the teacher of all things – to show you what you need to know. For I love to share with My children, and a listening heart I will not deny. Continue reading “Listening Heart”

Choose to Be on My Side

Psalm 136:12-13 (VOICE) With fierce strength, a mighty hand, and an outstretched arm, for His faithful love lasts forever. To Him who split the Red Sea in two and made a path between the divided waters, for His faithful love lasts forever.

Beloved, for those who choose to be on My side, My faithfulness knows no bounds. So choose Me, and align with Me, and watch My steadfast love manifest. Listen for My voice – whether thunderous or whispered, and be yielding and obey.

I AM the rock of strength for you to lean on, your firm foundation – the unchangeable One. Choose Me. And be steadfast in your choice. I AM the eternal One – the giver of life, embrace Me.

John 6:68 (AMP) Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You [alone] have the words of eternal life [you are our only hope].
