Be Contrite {Moments with God}

Proverbs 3:12 (VOICE) Because the Eternal proves His love by caring enough to discipline you, just as a father does his child, his pride and joy.

{From a heart of gratitude} Thank You, Papa God, for caring about me enough to correct me in love. You know my heart because you know me intimately, so You know just how to tell me things – even hard things. As long as my heart is open to correction, You always say the hard things in a way I can receive.

{Praying} May my heart be ever tender, and may my heart be ever true. May I listen intently to all You tell me I should do. For I know You aren’t controlling, nor do You act on whims. So if You’re bothering to tell me, it must be something I need. May I always be contrite, and may my heart be fixed on You.

Proverbs 3:9-12 (VOICE) Pay tribute to the Eternal in all of your affairs. Honor Him with the best of what you make. That way you will prosper to the fullest and have plenty of food to eat and wine to drink. My son, do not ignore the Eternal’s instruction or lose heart when He steps in to correct you; Because the Eternal proves His love by caring enough to discipline you, just as a father does his child, his pride and joy.

Unshakable Foundation

Proverbs 3:5 (VOICE) Place your trust in the Eternal; rely on Him completely; never depend upon your own ideas and inventions.

Beloved, trusting Me creates an unshakable foundation. For I AM steadfast and secure, a stronghold never broken. So rest in Me completely, and yield to My ways. Trust in Me to lead you, for I will guide you in love. For I know how you are wired, and I know what is to come. I know how best to prepare you, and I know how best to support you. I know what is for the good, for I see everything.

Trust in Me to lead you, and yield your ways to Me. When you choose My plans over those of your own, you choose in fact the surest path. For I remain the same always, and My love for you will never fade. So yield and rest wholeheartedly, and trust that I will lead you well.

Proverbs 3:5-8 (VOICE) Place your trust in the Eternal; rely on Him completely; never depend upon your own ideas and inventions. Give Him the credit for everything you accomplish, and He will smooth out and straighten the road that lies ahead. And don’t think you can decide on your own what is right and what is wrong. Respect the Eternal; turn and run from evil. If you depend on Him, your body and mind will be free from the strain of a sinful life, will experience healing and health, and will be strengthened at their core.

I Choose {Moments with God}

{Acknowledging truth to God} If I am fearfully and wonderfully made, You are not shocked by my weaknesses or failures. You aren’t wondering where You went wrong or wishing You’d made me differently. You have created me for Your own good purpose. Areas of perceived weakness and all. You have accepted me. So how can I do anything less for myself? Who am I to criticize Your handiwork? You created me with full knowledge of the plans You had in store. You created me and prepared me accordingly. So who am I to sit in judgment of what You deemed good? Of who You consider prepared?

{Declaring} I will yield to Your wisdom, and trust in Your judgment – believe what You say is true. So if You say I’m lovely, and You say I’m chosen, I’ve determined to agree with You. I trust You to lead me, and have faith in Your plans – I know You to be wise and true. So wherever You call me and whatever You ask of me – that’s what I’m planning to do. I choose to believe. I choose to trust. I choose to yield. So be glorified and lifted high – may I be known for being like You.

Psalm 139:14 (TPT) I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!

My Vow {Moments with God}

{Declaring} With my mouth, I will praise. With my tongue, I will bless. I will safeguard the wellspring of my heart so that no bitterness can take root. May I overflow with gratitude, and may my faith be steadfast too. May I reflect Your heart – in things both large and small. May I bring glory and honor unto You.

{Praying} Please put a guard upon my mouth that I may not stumble or sin. Help me capture each thought and submit it to Christ, and may no temptation draw me in. May my life be a blessing to all those around me, and may my heart be ever true. But above all else may I be pleasing in Your sight and be a blessing unto You.

James 3:9 (TPT) We use our tongue to praise God our Father and then turn around and curse a person who was made in his very image!

My Favored One

Isaiah 61:7 (NLT) Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

Beloved, I have not called you to be unimportant, overlooked, or shamed. I have anointed you to be an overcomer. In Me and by My Spirit, you walk in victory and grace. So grab hold of that identity with both hands and refuse to let go.

You are My favored one – covered in My goodness and blessing. You lack no good thing. Take stock and see with new eyes the blessings that surround you. Be intentional to focus on gratitude rather on your perceived lack. Trust Me, and trust My hand on your life.

Leave the Rest to Me

Psalm 86:14 (TPT) God, look at how these arrogant ones have defied me. Like a vicious band of violent men they have tried to kill me. They wouldn’t worry for a moment that they were sinning against you!

Beloved, when you live aligned with Me and walking on the path I have for you while observing My ways, those who criticize you, criticize Me. You don’t need to defend yourself, or try to hide who I have called you to be, for it is both of us they accuse.

Beloved, walk in humility and forgiveness. Allow Me to be the One to come to your defense. Trust Me to know the best way and perfect timing. All you need to do is to keep your heart right, and then leave the rest to Me.

Psalm 86:13-17 (TPT) You love me so much and you placed your greatness upon me. You rescued me from the deepest place of darkness, and you have delivered me from a certain death. God, look at how these arrogant ones have defied me. Like a vicious band of violent men they have tried to kill me. They wouldn’t worry for a moment that they were sinning against you! But Lord, your nurturing love is tender and gentle. You are slow to get angry yet so swift to show your faithful love. You are full of abounding grace and truth. Bring me to your grace-fountain so that your strength becomes mine. Be my hero and come rescue your servant once again! Send me a miraculous sign to show me how much you love me, so that those who hate me will see it and be ashamed. Don’t they know that you, Lord, are my comforter, the one who comes to help me?

Pause to Remember

Psalm 86:7 (TPT) Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way.

Beloved, in moments of hardship and trial, remember who I AM. Remind yourself of all I have done, and trust that I’ll do it again. Just as I moved miraculously to procure freedom for the Israelites from Egypt only to have them cry at the Red Sea and accuse Me of trying to do them harm, so are the memories short for many of My children.

Pause to remember, for you know who I AM, and what I AM capable of. I’m the God of the impossible, worker of miracles – Lord of Hosts am I. And I stand beside you, and I’ll never leave you. So rest surely in the safety of My steadfast love.

Psalm 86:5-8 (TPT) Lord, you are so good to me, so kind in every way and ready to forgive, for your grace-fountain keeps overflowing, drenching all your lovers who pray to you. God, won’t you pay attention to this urgent cry? Lord, bend down to listen to my prayer. Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way. God, there’s no one like you; there’s no other god as famous as you. You outshine all others and your miracles make it easy to know you.

Choose the Better Part

Luke 10:42 (TPT) Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet…

Beloved, dwell with Me. For to taste the sweet nectar of intimacy requires first partaking in the fruit. Make our time together a priority. Even if all you have available are stolen moments – find them. In doing so, you demonstrate your priorities. Refuse to let the busyness of life keep you away, for there will always be something or someone calling for your time.

Choose the better part: time with Me. For in My presence you find necessary refreshing for your soul. Indeed My love will look forward to you, and that joy then brings you strength. Indeed time with Me is vital to your well-being, so make it a priority. I AM calling, beloved. Come and dwell with Me.

Luke 10:38-42 (TPT) As Jesus and the disciples continued on their journey, they came to a village where a woman welcomed Jesus into her home. Her name was Martha and she had a sister named Mary. Mary sat down attentively before the Master, absorbing every revelation he shared. But Martha became exasperated by finishing the numerous household chores in preparation for her guests, so she interrupted Jesus and said, “Lord, don’t you think it’s unfair that my sister left me to do all the work by myself? You should tell her to get up and help me.” The Lord answered her, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Are they really that important? Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

Persist in Faith

James 1:3 (AMP) Be assured that the testing of your faith [through experience] produces endurance [leading to spiritual maturity, and inner peace].

Beloved, resist the urge to hide from times of testing, for – though they are challenging – they are always for your good. So embrace the trials with joy, knowing that as you persist in faith you are cultivating beautiful character that is well worth the effort.

Just as Jesus slept during the storm, so you can find peace even in the midst of chaos and turbulence when your heart rests in Me. So embrace the peace that comes with being a child of God, and face the journey ahead with confidence knowing whether good times await or bad, it is well with your soul.

James 1:2-5 (VOICE) Don’t run from tests and hardships, brothers and sisters. As difficult as they are, you will ultimately find joy in them; if you embrace them, your faith will blossom under pressure and teach you true patience as you endure. And true patience brought on by endurance will equip you to complete the long journey and cross the finish line —mature, complete, and wanting nothing. If you don’t have all the wisdom needed for this journey, then all you have to do is ask God for it; and God will grant all that you need. He gives lavishly and never scolds you for asking.

Yield to Me

Psalm 1:1 (VOICE) God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn: when you don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes…

Beloved, refuse to be drawn in by those with wicked intent. Trust your intuition, for My Holy Spirit will prompt you through such means. So if someone seems off though they have all the outward signs of righteousness, proceed with caution. Since you know their fruit will demonstrate the true nature of their intent, watch and wait to see the type fruit they yield.

For a good tree cannot put forth bad fruit, nor a bad tree put forth good fruit. So move with caution as you watch and wait. For the ploys of the enemy are devious at every turn, and yet you need not be afraid as you rest in Me. So if My Spirit urges caution, heed without delay. Wait on Me, and trust My Spirit to lead you. Your role is simply to yield to Me.

Psalm 1:1-3 (VOICE) God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn: when you don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes, When you avoid sin’s highway, when judgment and sarcasm beckon you, but you refuse. For you, the Eternal’s Word is your happiness. It is your focus—from dusk to dawn. You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun . No matter what you do, you prosper.
