Love Yourself

Mark 12:31 (TPT) And the second is this: ‘You must love your neighbor  in the same way you love yourself.’ You will never find a greater commandment than these.”

Beloved, in order to effectively love others, you must first love yourself. For if your heart is filled with judgment and criticism for yourself that cannot help but spill out onto others. Therefore, you must instead choose a different way.

Reflect My heart not simply towards others, but also towards yourself. For if I saturate you in My unconditional love, who are you to determine yourself unloveable? So decide in your heart to love yourself – and do so well, and then from that place of joyous stability, may you overflow love towards others too.

I Choose {Moments with God}

{Acknowledging truth to God} If I am fearfully and wonderfully made, You are not shocked by my weaknesses or failures. You aren’t wondering where You went wrong or wishing You’d made me differently. You have created me for Your own good purpose. Areas of perceived weakness and all. You have accepted me. So how can I do anything less for myself? Who am I to criticize Your handiwork? You created me with full knowledge of the plans You had in store. You created me and prepared me accordingly. So who am I to sit in judgment of what You deemed good? Of who You consider prepared?

{Declaring} I will yield to Your wisdom, and trust in Your judgment – believe what You say is true. So if You say I’m lovely, and You say I’m chosen, I’ve determined to agree with You. I trust You to lead me, and have faith in Your plans – I know You to be wise and true. So wherever You call me and whatever You ask of me – that’s what I’m planning to do. I choose to believe. I choose to trust. I choose to yield. So be glorified and lifted high – may I be known for being like You.

Psalm 139:14 (TPT) I thank you, God, for making me so mysteriously complex! Everything you do is marvelously breathtaking. It simply amazes me to think about it! How thoroughly you know me, Lord!

Access Granted

Hebrews 10:19-20 (TPT) And now we are brothers and sisters in God’s family because of the blood of Jesus, and he welcomes us to come right into the most holy sanctuary in the heavenly realm—boldly and with no hesitation. For he has dedicated a new, life-giving way for us to approach God. For just as the veil was torn in two, Jesus’ body was torn open to give us free and fresh access to him!

Beloved, access has been granted, so refuse to waste that gift. Approach – approach and do so boldly. You are welcomed into My holy sanctuary, so refuse to hesitate even a moment that you might not miss time with Me. Come and dwell with Me.

Beloved, there is nothing you cannot ask, for I desire to know what is on your heart – whether they be questions, dreams, or simple petitions. I want to fellowship with you, and have gone to great lengths to pursue you. Now you have the opportunity to pursue Me. So with blessing and honor, boldly approach.

Tarry with Me

Luke 10:42 (TPT) Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

Beloved, I AM not one to play cruel games. I will not draw you in to suddenly spurn you, nor cause you to trust only to desert or humiliate you. I AM faithful and I AM true. When you choose Me, I stand with you, and I will not turn away nor turn you away.

So tarry with Me. Give Me your undivided attention. Let Me love on you and we can share the deep things of the heart. If you want to be with Me, I will make sure you are able to be. For you are never too much for Me. You’re exactly as I’ve made you – beautiful in every way, and you’ve captivated My heart. So tarry with Me.

Luke 10:38-42 (TPT) As Jesus and the disciples continued on their journey, they came to a village where a woman welcomed Jesus into her home. Her name was Martha and she had a sister named Mary. Mary sat down attentively before the Master, absorbing every revelation he shared. But Martha became exasperated by finishing the numerous household chores in preparation for her guests, so she interrupted Jesus and said, “Lord, don’t you think it’s unfair that my sister left me to do all the work by myself? You should tell her to get up and help me.” The Lord answered her, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Are they really that important? Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

Let Me Wrap You in My Favor

2 ‬Peter ‭1:17‬ ‭(TPT‬‬) Yes, Father God lavished upon him radiant glory and honor when his distinct voice spoke out of the realm of majestic glory, endorsing him with these words: This is my cherished Son, marked by my love. All my delight is found in him!

Beloved, let Me wrap you in My favor and mark you by My love. For you are My precious child, and My delight rests in you. I want to lavish you in My glory, and root you in My truth. Embrace My love and hold on fast as My favor rests on you.

You don’t need to earn My love or strive for My approval. Simply walk in love with a clean, pure heart and know that I AM with you. You need not fear, or hold yourself back as you walk with Me, for I have made you just the way you are and I will love you for eternity.

The Apple of My Eye

Psalm 17:8 (VOICE) Keep close watch over me as the apple of Your eye; shelter me in the shadow of Your wings.

Beloved, just as you are pained if someone injures the pupil of your eye, so do I feel every hurt and wound you experience. For you are the apple of My eye – My beloved one, My focus, and I care for you more than you could begin to comprehend.

Though trials will surely come – for they always do – know that the shelter of My wings is always there for you to turn to. I AM steadfast and I AM faithful, and My love continues from generation to generation without end. So rest, knowing I AM watching over you and I AM with you, for you are Mine. I Understand You Completely

Psalm 139:15 (VOICE) You see all things; nothing about me was hidden from You As I took shape in secret, carefully crafted in the heart of the earth before I was born from its womb.

Beloved, I’ve been with you for each moment of your life, and I’ll be with you for all the remaining ones too. Every memory that has marked you, I’ve experienced with you. And I don’t stand by as an impartial observer at a distance – I AM right there with you. I share tears when moments have been painful, and share joy in times of blessing. I understand you completely, often even when you don’t understand yourself.

I know each trigger you struggle with, and which wound it comes from. I know which wounds have been reinforced time and again, which also means I understand why you struggle with broken patterns that are part of your defense system. I’m not shocked by them, nor do I judge you for them. Rather I stand patiently with you, ready to support and comfort you in times of need (even if there’s many) and ready bring you through to a place of healing (though the process may be long). I love you, and you are worth the effort – so much so that to Me it seems no effort at all because I love you. Continue reading “I Understand You Completely”

Cherished and Prized

Psalm 139:13 (VOICE) For You shaped me, inside and out. You knitted me together in my mother’s womb long before I took my first breath.

Beloved, I made you. So do you think there is one single nuance about you that I’m unaware of? Of course not. And if that is true, do you think it’s possible I could be surprised at your ability to mess things up or get things wrong? Or even to flagrantly choose poorly for years on end, and then struggle with feeling “worthy” to come back home?

Nothing about you is unknown to Me. I know all of you, and I have opened My arms and welcomed you. More than that, there is nothing I want more than fellowship with you. I choose you. Do you think I could be God of all creation, but yet somehow be flawed in My judgement in that you are worth loving? Or is there something so uniquely amazing about you that I AM able to see it even if you are not? Continue reading “Cherished and Prized”

Be Kind to Yourself

Psalm 139:7 (VOICE) Can I go anywhere apart from Your Spirit? Is there anywhere I can go to escape Your watchful presence?

Beloved, I AM omnipresent. When Adam and Eve hid from Me in the garden and I asked them where they were (Genesis 3:8-9), do you think I truly did not know? Or was I in fact giving them opportunity to remember that I love them completely, and – no matter what they’d done – I still wanted connection with them?

Beloved, I wanted connection with them, and I want it with you. So resist the urge to hide from Me if you’re struggling with feelings of guilt or shame. Relationship with Me isn’t about perfection, but rather it’s about relationship itself – communication, interacting, a sharing of thoughts and ideas, dreaming together – all that and more.

Of course it’s good to do the best you can and make wise choices. But in the moments you fall short, refuse to take on the burden of guilt or shame and instead share that disappointment with Me. Rather than allowing it to separate us, allow it to draw us closer as I comfort you and encourage you. Be kind to yourself, and let Me be kind to you as well. Continue reading “Be Kind to Yourself”

Through Your Eyes {Moments with God}

Psalm 139:6 (VOICE) It is the most amazing feeling to know how deeply You know me, inside and out; the realization of it is so great that I cannot comprehend it.

{Speaking to God in my heart} Father, You amaze me. The level of detail You’re mindful of in my heart and life is truly mind boggling. You understand my heart motivations even in the moments I can’t (or won’t) see them. And like the loving Father You are, You find a way to bring the things to light that I need to know. And You do it without shaming me. You do it without making me feel like I’m inherently flawed. In fact, just the opposite! As I see myself in the reflection of Your eyes – the way You treat me and the way You love me – I see someone worth being kind to. I see someone worth being patient with. I see someone who is not disposable, but who is worth tending to and healing. You don’t just get rid of me when I’m feeling broken or struggling to understand something – even when it’s the bajillionth time I’m making the same mistake, you correct me just as lovingly as if it were the first. When I see myself through Your eyes, I see someone cherished and prized. And when You treat me as You do, I feel encouraged to do the same. Thank you for the gift of seeing myself as You see me. May I never lose sight of that vision, but if I do – thank you in advance for patiently helping me find it again. Continue reading “Through Your Eyes {Moments with God}”
