Your Vision {Moments with God}

Psalm 139:14 (VOICE) I will offer You my grateful heart, for I am Your unique creation, filled with wonder and awe. You have approached even the smallest details with excellence; Your works are wonderful; I carry this knowledge deep within my soul.

{from a heart filled with gratitude} Father, I am overwhelmed by the awesomeness of Your creation. I see it everywhere around me in glorious majesty. To think I’m part of that creation is incredibly humbling. To think You knit together my frame and thought, “Yes! The world needed one of these beauties!” is beyond my comprehension. And yet I can recognize that same wonder for those around me. I look at my loved ones and think how incredibly grateful I am that they are here on earth, and that I have the blessing of them in my life. And yet too often I struggle to believe they feel the same way about me.

{praying} Father, help me to see me as you see me and how all those who love me see me. And even as I pray that I ask that my ability to love myself not be rooted in others’ thoughts about me – for that can be fickle, but rather let my identity – my view of who I am – be solely based on how you see me. For my own vision of myself is flawed. Only Your vision is perfect, so help me to catch Your vision of who I am, and help me to hold to it steadfastly so I might align with it. I choose to release the grudges I hold against myself and step into the love You have reflected towards me because that is truth, and I receive your truth in all areas. Thank You, Father, for your patience with me. Help me to reflect that patience to myself. Continue reading “Your Vision {Moments with God}”

Let Gratitude Build Your Strength

Habakkuk 3:19 (AMP) The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility].

Beloved, let gratitude build your strength. For as you embrace My goodness and respond in thanksgiving and praise, the stone-like concerns that weigh you down are lightened and the chain-like burdens that would hinder you are broken – and you are set free.

In the freedom of gratitude, you find strength as the power is removed from the things that would hold you back. As you focus on Me, your confidence builds. And as you rest in Me, your feet are made sure. So embrace gratitude, and fill your mouth with praise. Be emboldened as you are infused with My strength, and be made whole.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 (AMP) Though the fig tree does not blossom And there is no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fails And the fields produce no food, Though the flock is cut off from the fold And there are no cattle in the stalls, Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation! The Lord God is my strength [my source of courage, my invincible army]; He has made my feet [steady and sure] like hinds’ feet And makes me walk [forward with spiritual confidence] on my high places [of challenge and responsibility]…

Be a Person of Gratitude

Habakkuk 3:18 (AMP) Yet I will [choose to] rejoice in the Lord; I will [choose to] shout in exultation in the [victorious] God of my salvation!

Beloved, choose to be a person of gratitude, and be known by that choice. Set an example of a life full of thanksgiving that transcends circumstance, that others may see and know what walking with Me looks like.

Resentment and worry don’t serve you well, nor testify of My goodness and grace. So be intentional to look for My fingerprints, and be moved by My touch. For what I have done is sufficient – dayenu, it is enough. And though more is likely coming, choose to be more focused on gratitude than increase. For the contentment that comes from resting in gratitude is a blessing all its own.

A Better Choice

Habakkuk 3:17 (AMP) Though the fig tree does not blossom And there is no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive fails And the fields produce no food, Though the flock is cut off from the fold And there are no cattle in the stalls,

Beloved, when everything seems to be falling apart, you are faced with a choice of how to respond. You can choose to complain, or embrace bitterness or resentment. You can choose to indulge in jealousy, or seek to lay blame for the misfortunes at hand. Or you can make a better choice.

When troubles come – as they always do, choose instead to stand fast in gratitude. For in gratitude is found life – even in the midst of death and destruction. And that is a powerful weapon. So even in the darkest hour, choose to find something to be grateful for. For I AM a good and kind Father, and I AM faithful to My children. So stay firmly rooted in gratitude and embrace Me. Step Forward in Gratitude

Psalm 126:2-3 (VOICE) Our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues were spilling over into song. The word went out across the prairies and deserts, across the hills, over the oceans wide, from nation to nation: “The Eternal has done remarkable things for them.” We shook our heads. All of us were stunned— the Eternal has done remarkable things for us. We were beyond happy, beyond joyful.

Beloved, regardless of what comes your way, step forward in gratitude. Remember all that I have done in your life, and stay in a place of perpetual thanksgiving. Dayenu (which means it is sufficient). What I have done – and if I never do more, is enough.

Keep your eyes and heart filled with the blessings that come from Me. You are alive, for I have given you breath. You are loved, for I call you My own. For the many blessings I have given, without expectation of more even as you know more will come, give thanks to the One who has bestowed them. For I AM God alone.

Measure By My Standards

James 3:16 (NLT) For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.

Beloved, refuse to open the door for the kingdom of darkness. Those who succumb to jealousy and greed are not operating in My flow. Being obsessed with your own interests is counter to the way I move. If you are not working with Me, you’re working against Me. So refuse to take the bait.

Refuse to be drawn in by the world’s system. Refuse to fall prey to comparisons with others. Seek Me. Seek My plans for you. Be content, and overflow with gratitude. Each person has been given their role – their call, so seek to walk in the fullness of that which I’ve called you to.

Refuse to allow petty jealousies to distract you. Whose standard will you measure by? Mine is the only one that matters. So seek to fulfill what I have ordained for you with excellence and fullness of joy. Refuse to be derailed or drawn offtrack. Continue reading “Measure By My Standards”

Leave a Legacy of Love

Proverbs 10:12 (NLT) Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.

Beloved, choosing to love instead of taking offense is always the right decision. There will always be misunderstandings or people acting from a place of hurt, but how you respond speaks to your character. And as you choose to love, you clearly reflect Me and My heart.

In extending the grace you yourself want to receive, you’re leading by example. And being known for being gracious and loving is a testament of one who knows Me. And beloved, know that you’re leaving a legacy of love that will reach farther and last longer than you can begin to imagine. Continue reading “Leave a Legacy of Love”

Fruit of Your Lips

Hebrews 13:15 (TPT) So we no longer offer up a steady stream of blood sacrifices, but through Jesus, we will offer up to God a steady stream of praise sacrifices—these are “the lambs” we offer from our lips that celebrate his name!

Beloved, may the fruit of your lips pour forth in praise to the One who is worthy. You have a choice of whether or not you bring forth fruit, and what kind of fruit it is. Will you withhold that which I AM worthy of? Or will you give it to another?

Surely as you nurture a heart full of gratitude, you will find yourself unable to hold back your praise. So cultivate a heart of thanksgiving and release your song of joy and love that the fruit of your lips might be sweet.  Continue reading “Fruit of Your Lips”

Rest in Joy

Romans 12:12 (VOICE) Do not forget to rejoice, for hope is always just around the corner. Hold up through the hard times that are coming, and devote yourselves to prayer.

Beloved, choose to rest in joy. There is always something for which to have gratitude. At all times and through every experience, you can choose to maintain a state of joyous appreciation for My goodness to you. Joy is a choice.

So choose to rest in joy even as you persist in prayer – trusting Me to move rightly, for I AM good. Your concerns are important to Me and never out of My thoughts. I never treat your heart lightly, beloved. So resist the urge to indulge in worry, and rather choose to be steadfast in joyful gratitude.

Be Moved by Gratitude

Ephesians 5:10 (AMP) trying to learn [by experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [and letting your lifestyles be examples of what is most acceptable to Him–your behavior expressing gratitude to God for your salvation].

Beloved, one who is moved with true gratitude acts accordingly. Gratitude shifts your heart. It demands action. It moves you. One who gives lip service to thanksgiving but who’s actions and heart remain the same is not truly grateful.

So check your heart, beloved. If you are truly moved with gratitude by My salvation and My love, how has it changed you and how are you reflecting that change to Me?

Let your gratitude overflow in a life spent giving glory and honor to Me. Knowing how to please Me is no great mystery, for I’ve made My heart plain in My Word. So know Me and know My heart, and offer up thanksgiving in a life filled with obedience and praise from a joyful, grateful heart. Continue reading “Be Moved by Gratitude”
