Elohim Rachum (Merciful God)

Deuteronomy 4:31 (NLT) For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon you or destroy you or forget the solemn covenant he made with your ancestors.

Beloved, I AM a God of mercy in that I see your afflictions and the bondage of the enemy and My response is to set you free. I love My children. I not only fight for you, but I have equipped you to fight along side Me. I’ve armed you with My word. I’ve clothed you in My righteousness. I’ve covered you in My salvation. Nothing is stronger than the Lord of Hosts!

Stay aligned with Me and know freedom. I AM rich in compassion and full of mercy. I want to see you succeed and flourish – I don’t want to see you fall. I hear each prayer and see each tear, My eyes of mercy never miss a thing. I AM Elohim Rachum, the merciful God, and there is no other like Me.

A Person of Mercy and Compassion

Proverbs 3:4 (VOICE) In this way, you will win the favor of God and others, and they will think well of you.

Beloved, when you become known as a person of mercy and compassion, people are drawn to you. A person like that feels safe and trustworthy. A person like that reflects My love. Choose to be that kind of person.

As you seek to reflect Me, resist the urge to do so simply for the favor and blessing that accompany that kind of life. Rather do it because it’s the right thing to do. It’s right for mercy to triumph over judgment. It’s right for love to triumph over hate. So cloak yourself in character that mirrors Mine, and do so from a heart of love.

Proverbs 3:1-4 (VOICE) My son, always remember what I have taught you; keep my instructions dear to your heart. If you do, they will be your guide to a long, healthy, prosperous life. Stay focused; do not lose sight of mercy and truth; engrave them on a pendant, and hang it around your neck; meditate on them so they are written upon your heart. In this way, you will win the favor of God and others, and they will think well of you.

Reflect My Love

Proverbs 3:3 (VOICE) Stay focused; do not lose sight of mercy and truth; engrave them on a pendant, and hang it around your neck; meditate on them so they are written upon your heart.

Beloved, the more you know, the easier it seems to be to slip into judgment. It is far too easy to think you know what is right and to assume you know best how another should act or what choices they should make.

I encourage you to be rich in mercy – to love one another, and be rich in compassion. Make that your focus rather than some self-congratulatory sense of “rightness” that feeds your pride. Cultivate mercy and be rich in understanding that you might reflect My love and live the true meaning of My Word.

My Heart of Mercy

John 3:16-17 (VOICE) For God expressed His love for the world in this way: He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him will not face everlasting destruction, but will have everlasting life. Here’s the point. God didn’t send His Son into the world to judge it; instead, He is here to rescue a world headed toward certain destruction.

Beloved, My heart toward you is not one of judgement, but rather of mercy. I’ve gone to great lengths to ensure that the grace you need is available to you. I do so out of My great love for you, for you are precious to Me beyond measure.

A loving earthly parent wouldn’t strive to create a child only to throw it out like yesterday’s trash, but rather they treasure their precious one for the gift that they are. In the same way, I have not created you for judgment, but rather for mercy. You are the apple of My eye.

YHVH M’kadesh (the Lord Who Sanctifies)

Isaiah 1:18 (VOICE) Come on now, let’s walk and talk; let’s work this out. Your wrongdoings are bloodred, But they can turn as white as snow. Your sins are red like crimson, But they can be made clean again like new wool.

Beloved, no sin is so great that the blood of Jesus cannot atone for it. Receive and be made new. Resist the urge to try to hold tight to baggage that has seemed to define you in times past. Release it and walk in the new I have for you.

For I AM Elohim Rachum – the merciful God who loves you and has provided a means of achieving freedom. And I AM YHVH M’kadesh – the Lord who sanctifies, for I AM the Redeemer and the Restorer, the Creator and the mender of hearts. So look to Me, and stand in faith, for behold I make all things new.

Reflect My Eyes of Mercy

Exodus 33:19 (VOICE) Eternal One: I will cause all My goodness to pass before you, and I will declare My name, the Eternal One, before you. I will show mercy to whomever I choose to show mercy, and I will demonstrate compassion on whomever I choose to have compassion.

Beloved, reflect My eyes of compassion. For I AM El Rachum – God of Mercy, the God of Compassion, so be like Me. For I show compassion in moments I deem fit that others might find too generous. I AM slow to anger and rich in mercy, so again, be like Me. Reflect My eyes of mercy.

Extending compassion to one in need is a gift. And it’s a gift you have undoubtedly needed yourself on occasion, so would you withhold it from someone else? Would you stand in judgment? Do you not know your judgement is flawed? Only I judge rightly. So, beloved, be like Me, and reflect My compassion.

El Chai (the Living God)

Zechariah 10:1 (VOICE) Pray to the Eternal, asking for rain in the spring; He is the One bringing the storm clouds. He fills them with heavy rain, showers of rain for the plants of the field for everyone.

Beloved, pray for rain. Pray for Me to swing wide the floodgates of heaven and saturate My people and all the earth. I AM the One who brings refreshing in the dry, desert seasons. I AM El Chai, the Living God, and I bring life and bring it in abundance.

In My great mercy, I pour out My rain on all – the righteous and the unrighteous. I will not withhold My life-giving flow, nor deny anyone the opportunity to grow. Be sure to use wisely the blessing that I give that increase can be given all the more.  Continue reading “El Chai (the Living God)”

Be Moved

Matthew 9:36 (AMP) When He saw the crowds, He was moved with compassion and pity for them, because they were dispirited and distressed, like sheep without a shepherd.

Beloved, see as I see. Look not to the world with judgement and disgust, but rather be moved with compassion. For without Me people will seek every manner of substitute to fill the God-shaped void within them.

So be light, and shine brightly. Win those around you to Me without needing a word. Shine forth godly character saturated with unconditional love, that they might have a taste of My heart for them and know no substitute will ever suffice.  Continue reading “Be Moved”

Cover in Love

Philippians 2:2 (TPT) So I’m asking you, my friends, that you be joined together in perfect unity—with one heart, one passion, and united in one love. Walk together with one harmonious purpose and you will fill my heart with unbounded joy.

Beloved, extend grace to those around you remembering the times you yourself have needed it extended to you. Respond to offense with mercy, respond to anger with love, and respond to pride with humility.

When faced with unkindness, refuse to respond in like manner. Demonstrate your godly character through your grace and steadfastly loving responses. Remember that their words and behaviors are representative of who they are rather than who you are. Cover them in love and pray for them.
