Grace-Filled Progress

Psalm 86:15 (TPT) But Lord, your nurturing love is tender and gentle. You are slow to get angry yet so swift to show your faithful love. You are full of abounding grace and truth.

Beloved, I’m not impatient with you. Nor am I frustrated when you’re slow to learn. I know when your heart is set on Me. So even in the moments you fall short, I see your imperfect progress for what it is: progress.

Resist the urge to become frustrated with yourself when you’re slower to change and grow than you’d like. For the energy is wasted, and much better spent helping you focus on continued progress – regardless of how slow you may find it.

I AM patient. I support you. I believe in you. I AM with you. I’m guiding you. Reflect the same grace to yourself that I do. And remember, I AM all you need.

Psalm 86:13-17 (TPT) You love me so much and you placed your greatness upon me. You rescued me from the deepest place of darkness, and you have delivered me from a certain death. God, look at how these arrogant ones have defied me. Like a vicious band of violent men they have tried to kill me. They wouldn’t worry for a moment that they were sinning against you! But Lord, your nurturing love is tender and gentle. You are slow to get angry yet so swift to show your faithful love. You are full of abounding grace and truth. Bring me to your grace-fountain so that your strength becomes mine. Be my hero and come rescue your servant once again! Send me a miraculous sign to show me how much you love me, so that those who hate me will see it and be ashamed. Don’t they know that you, Lord, are my comforter, the one who comes to help me?

Leave the Rest to Me

Psalm 86:14 (TPT) God, look at how these arrogant ones have defied me. Like a vicious band of violent men they have tried to kill me. They wouldn’t worry for a moment that they were sinning against you!

Beloved, when you live aligned with Me and walking on the path I have for you while observing My ways, those who criticize you, criticize Me. You don’t need to defend yourself, or try to hide who I have called you to be, for it is both of us they accuse.

Beloved, walk in humility and forgiveness. Allow Me to be the One to come to your defense. Trust Me to know the best way and perfect timing. All you need to do is to keep your heart right, and then leave the rest to Me.

Be a God-Pleaser

Psalm 86:13 (TPT) You love me so much and you placed your greatness upon me. You rescued me from the deepest place of darkness, and you have delivered me from a certain death.

Beloved, there is no pit so deep I can’t snatch you from it. No trap so hidden I can’t see it. As you align yourself with Me and yield to My leading, you are empowered with My wisdom, grace, and favor.

I AM the One who lifts men up and makes them great. I AM the One who grants honor and favor. So look to Me and make the praise and criticism of men of no importance to you. Simply be a God-pleaser, and see what we can accomplish together.

I Honor You {Moments with God}

Psalm 86:12 (TPT) With all my heart and passion I will thank you, my God! I will give glory to your name, always and forever!

{Singing in my heart} You are worthy of admiration. You are worthy of all my praise. You are worthy, God in the highest. So I give You worship and honor and praise. You are worthy beyond description. You are worthy – I stand amazed. You are worthy beyond comprehension. So I give You worship and honor and praise.

{He smiles lovingly at my offering of praise, knowing it is pouring forth from the overflow of my heart. And He responds} You move Me with your worship, beloved. Your heart – so tender and true. You give Me honor, My beautiful child, and in return, I honor you.

Psalm 86:9-12 (TPT) Lord Almighty, you are the one who created all the nations; Look at them—they’re all on their way! Yes, the day will come when they all will worship you and put your glory on display. You are the one and only God. What miracles! What wonders! What greatness belongs to you! Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name. With all my heart and passion I will thank you, my God! I will give glory to your name, always and forever!

Listen Well

Psalm 86:11 (TPT) Teach me more about you, how you work and how you move, so that I can walk onward in your truth until everything within me brings honor to your name.

Beloved, listen well. And don’t just listen, but hear. For I have much to share with you, and there’s so much for you to learn. But that requires a heart both open and desirous of learning – so choose well.

To be more like Me, you must know Me. To walk in My ways, you must know My ways. It’s not simply enough for you to do what you believe is right, for your human perspective is limited, making your judgment imperfect. But I see things rightly, for I see and know all. So trust Me to lead. Trust Me to teach. And choose to listen well.

Psalm 86:9-12 (TPT) Lord Almighty, you are the one who created all the nations; Look at them—they’re all on their way! You are My Everything {Moments with God}

Psalm 86:10 (TPT) You are the one and only God. What miracles! What wonders! What greatness belongs to you!

{From a heart filled with praise} God, I know who You are. Year after year I’ve seen You move in my life in beautiful and amazing ways. So even in this moment where I don’t see Your hand – when I’m confused and don’t understand – I still choose to remember who I know You to be. I know You are faithful, and I know You’re looking out for me. I know I can trust You, and I know You have good plans for me. I know I can safely rest in the shadow of Your wings. And I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, You are my everything.

Psalm 86:9-12 (TPT) Lord Almighty, you are the one who created all the nations; Look at them—they’re all on their way! Remember Who I AM

Psalm 86:9 (TPT) Lord Almighty, you are the one who created all the nations; Look at them—they’re all on their way! Yes, the day will come when they all will worship you and put your glory on display.

Beloved, I AM Creator. I AM Lord of all. I AM the God of Heaven, and the earth rests at My feet. Just pause for a moment and consider that. Consider what it means that the earth is My footstool. Whatever portion of the natural world you’ve seen is still only a fraction of its entirety. And it is My footstool.

And yet, I not only take note of you, but My eye is ever on you and I’ve chosen you to be My very own. The problems that feel so big to you are so small to Me – not even problems at all, and yet I AM mindful of each and every one because you are so precious to Me. Remember who I AM, and remember who you are to Me.

Psalm 86:9 (TPT) Lord Almighty, you are the one who created all the nations; Look at them—they’re all on their way! Who You Know Me to Be

Psalm 86:8 (TPT) God, there’s no one like you; there’s no other god as famous as you. You outshine all others and your miracles make it easy to know you.

Beloved, rejoice in the truth of who I AM. See Me and know My heart. For those who truly know Me have unshakable faith because they rest in My firmness of character. Trust that I AM who I say I AM. Then watch that truth be manifested in your daily life.

Give praise for who you know Me to be, for in doing so you raise a song of victory. Shout to the heavens in triumph and praise. Let the gratitude overflow in songs of thanksgiving. May your very life testify to who you know Me to be.

Psalm 86:5-8 (TPT) Lord, you are so good to me, so kind in every way and ready to forgive, for your grace-fountain keeps overflowing, drenching all your lovers who pray to you. God, won’t you pay attention to this urgent cry? Lord, bend down to listen to my prayer. Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way. God, there’s no one like you; there’s no other god as famous as you. You outshine all others and your miracles make it easy to know you.

Pause to Remember

Psalm 86:7 (TPT) Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way.

Beloved, in moments of hardship and trial, remember who I AM. Remind yourself of all I have done, and trust that I’ll do it again. Just as I moved miraculously to procure freedom for the Israelites from Egypt only to have them cry at the Red Sea and accuse Me of trying to do them harm, so are the memories short for many of My children.

Pause to remember, for you know who I AM, and what I AM capable of. I’m the God of the impossible, worker of miracles – Lord of Hosts am I. And I stand beside you, and I’ll never leave you. So rest surely in the safety of My steadfast love.

See Things Differently

Psalm 86:6 (TPT) God, won’t you pay attention to this urgent cry? Lord, bend down to listen to my prayer.

Beloved, in the moments that all seem lost or that it feels like chaos surrounds you, pause to see things differently. You know that I love you – that I’m steadfast and true, that I will never leave you. You know that I’m able, and that I move on your behalf, so look again at what is around you.

What you see as hardship may be an opportunity for growth. That cruelty from someone may be an opportunity to extend grace and forgiveness. Resist the urge to assume the worst, and instead consider you may be missing something. So look again, beloved, and rest in My love. For I AM faithful, and you are dearly loved.
