Be Vigilant

Matthew 26:41 (ASV) Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Beloved, stay alert. Keep your spiritual eyes open and attentive. Then allow My Spirit to move you based on what you’ve seen, that you might know how to pray. Resist the urge to rely on your natural senses, for they are limited and create bias.

Instead be vigilant in the spirit – be open to what you’re “seeing” and sensing. Then pray. For, beloved, I have called you to a lifestyle of prayer. So be intentional to continually stay in communion with Me as you bring petitions before My throne.

Shame is Rooted in Fear

Genesis 3:7-8 (VOICE) Suddenly their eyes were opened to a reality previously unknown. For the first time, they sensed their vulnerability and rushed to hide their naked bodies, stitching fig leaves into crude loincloths. Then they heard the sound of the Eternal God walking in the cool misting shadows of the garden. The man and his wife took cover among the trees and hid from the Eternal God.

Beloved, shame is rooted in fear, but My perfect love casts out all fear. So draw near, and receive My love in full measure. Do so that you might know what it feels like to have the burden of shame removed. I never designed you to be weighted down by shame.

Beloved, I long for you to walk in the fullness of your freedom – naked and unashamed – with no fear causing you to hide your face from Me. I desire fellowship with you. I know you, and I love you – in all your beautiful imperfection. I accept you as you are, and I call you My very own. So resist any temptation to allow fear and shame to take root, and instead allow My mercy, love, and grace to make you whole.

Expanding Reverential Awe

Psalms 96:4 (TPT) For the Lord’s greatness is beyond description and he deserves all the praise that comes to him. He is our King-God and it’s right to be in holy awe of him.

Beloved, though it is vital for you to know your identity in Me, don’t get stuck there. Resist the urge to keep your eyes on yourself. Rather keep your focus on Me and on who I AM. Stay in a place of humility. Allow your faith to enlarge as your reverential awe expands because you are learning to see Me as I AM.

Blessings and beauty come from My hand, so look to Me. Wait on Me to move – and wait with joy. For simply knowing Me and having a relationship with Me is worthy of gratitude. I AM beyond description, and yet I make Myself known to you. From the outpouring of My love I nourish your heart. Embrace your expanding reverential awe as you come to know Me more, for I desire to be known by you.

Find Fellowship with Me

2 Corinthians 1:4 (VOICE) He consoles us as we endure the pain and hardship of life so that we may draw from His comfort and share it with others in their own struggles.

Beloved, in the midst of pain, I AM still with you. No hardship will scare Me away. I will use each one to grow you and strengthen your character, if you will yield to Me. Draw comfort from Me. You are not alone.

And remember as you endure the sufferings, that I have endured them as well. And when you encounter betrayal, remember I have encountered it as well. And when you’re ridiculed, misjudged, and persecuted – remember, beloved, I have been too. So draw close to Me, and in the midst of trial, find fellowship with Me. Turn Your Faith into the Currency of Prayer

Mark 11:24 (TPT) This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours.

Beloved, turn your faith into the currency of prayer. Ask, seek, and knock. The door will be opened to you. So align yourself with Me, and immerse yourself in Me. Meditate on My Word. Know My heart and trust Me to know yours.

From that place of intimacy – in the beauty of being known, recognize that the more time you spend with Me, the more your desires align with Mine. And as you pray and petition, you begin reiterating My desires back to Me, and we work together as one – expanding My Kingdom.  Continue reading “Turn Your Faith into the Currency of Prayer”

Burn for Me without Restraint

Song of Solomon 8:6 (VOICE) Set me as a seal over your heart; wear me as an emblem on your arm For love is as strong as death, and jealousy is as relentless as the grave. Love flares up like a blazing fire, a very ardent flame.

Beloved, never will My hunger for you be quenched. There is nothing you can do or say to extinguish My devotion to you. Though earthly love may seem to be fickle or fade, Mine never will – it never does. I AM wholly steadfast, completely ardent, and totally head-over-heels in love with you.

So open your heart to Me – fully allow Me access. Resist the urge to hold back, and instead be consumed by your passion for Me and for the things of Me. Let your fire for Me burn so brightly that all who know you can’t help but see its glorious flames and be warmed by the depth of your affections. Beloved, burn for Me without restraint.

Be a Wise Caretaker

1 Corinthians 4:1 (VOICE) Rather than power brokers, think of us as servants of the Anointed One, the Liberating King, caretakers of the mysteries of God.

Beloved, be wise with what I give you. Just as you wouldn’t go around indiscriminately handing out currency, you also should be intentional and circumspect about that which I have given you. I reveal with purpose, so align with Me and show you can be trusted with more.

You do not have to prove your intimacy with Me to others by sharing all I’ve given you, just as a married couple has no need to reveal their intimacies to prove the validity of their relationship. Intimacy is cultivated through shared moments, and there are times something is lost in the sharing.

So be a wise steward of the gifts I give you regardless of the form they take. And just as you resist the urge to  squander what I’ve given, also resist the urge to hoard it. What I give you is often for appointed moments, so be willing to pour out just as I have poured in. I will direct you. So be a wise caretaker of My mysteries, so I can share even more.

Delve into the Mysteries of Me

Psalm 78:2,4 (VOICE) I will open my mouth in parables; I will speak of ancient mysteries— We will not keep these things secret from their children; rather, we will tell the coming generation All about the praise that is due to the Eternal One. We will tell them all about His strength, power, and wonders.

Beloved, delve into the mysteries of Me. There is such beauty in knowing and being known – such joy and depth of affection in the intimacy of understanding. Just as a couple that has been married for decades and who are deeply in love can finish one another’s sentences and preemptively anticipate each other’s needs and wants, so I desire that intimacy with you.

I want you to know how I think – to feel confident in how I move. I want you to be intimately aware of the mysteries that make Me who I AM, just as I know you and all the mysteries that make up who you are. From that depth of understanding comes an unshakable foundation of trust and appreciation. It is worth the effort to cultivate. So delve into the mysteries of Me and see the beauty that comes forth, beloved, and then share Me with the world.

Be Bold in Your Confidence in Me

Proverbs 28:1 (MSG) The wicked are edgy with guilt, ready to run off even when no one’s after them; Honest people are relaxed and confident, bold as lions.

Beloved, be of good character – solidly founded in My Word. Walk with the confidence that comes of right relationship with Me. And then stay in that place. Choose wisely, and walk in integrity. From that solid foundation, live out loud and allow your faith to shine forth.

Let your actions speak for you, and your words – when requested, support the truths that your life already clearly portrays. Be bold – not in your personal accomplishments and beliefs, but rather be bold in your confidence in Me and who I AM, for I AM worthy.

Come Play with Me

Proverbs 25:2 (AMP) It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

Beloved, come and play with Me. I have hidden things that you might enjoy the process of ferreting them out (and learning much along the way). Resist the urge to be spiritually lazy – constantly looking for someone else to feed you the fruits of their labor, and instead grow in strength and wisdom by doing so yourself.

In the same way you can sustain life on fast food, but not one that is healthy and fulfilling; so your spiritual life can limp along on nothing but regurgitated wisdom, but nothing is a substitute for a deep personal relationship with Me – including the joys, trials, and the treasure hunts. So come play with Me, beloved, and flourish in the sustenance intimacy brings.
