Step Forward in Gratitude

Psalm 126:2-3 (VOICE) Our mouths were filled with laughter; our tongues were spilling over into song. The word went out across the prairies and deserts, across the hills, over the oceans wide, from nation to nation: “The Eternal has done remarkable things for them.” We shook our heads. All of us were stunned— the Eternal has done remarkable things for us. We were beyond happy, beyond joyful.

Beloved, regardless of what comes your way, step forward in gratitude. Remember all that I have done in your life, and stay in a place of perpetual thanksgiving. Dayenu (which means it is sufficient). What I have done – and if I never do more, is enough.

Keep your eyes and heart filled with the blessings that come from Me. You are alive, for I have given you breath. You are loved, for I call you My own. For the many blessings I have given, without expectation of more even as you know more will come, give thanks to the One who has bestowed them. For I AM God alone.

Wise Steward of Your Gifts

Exodus 31:3 (AMPC) And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom and ability, in understanding and intelligence, and in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship,

Beloved, never hesitate to ask for increased anointing and wisdom in cultivating your giftings. I have entrusted them to you, and love to see you walking in their fullness. It is a joy to fill you with My creativity – for it is endless.

Be a wise steward of the gifts you’ve been given. Use them as you feel led, and resist the urge to be derailed or swayed by the feedback and opinions of men. As you create to this audience of One, you can and will be a blessing to others but will do so without seeking to please men. Trust Me, I will bring the increase.

Be an Advocate for Peace

Proverbs 12:20 (VOICE) Deceit darkens the hearts of those who plot evil, but advocates of peace have joy.

Beloved, an advocate pleads the case of what they believe in. They defend it, and fiercely support it. They are intentional to advance its interests. What are you an advocate for? What do you fiercely support? What are you fighting for?

Be an advocate for peace – an advocate for My Kingdom. Whether this means standing against the ploys of evil or working to change the hearts of those who bring turmoil or simply loving well and doing so with abandon. Be intentional where you invest your time and energy, and be an advocate for good.

Be Wise of Speech

Proverbs 12:18 (VOICE) Thoughtless words cut deeply like a thrusting sword, but the speech of the wise is a healing balm.

Beloved, be wise of speech, choosing each word with intentionality. Speak from an understanding that each word is a seed you are depositing – it will bring forth either life or death. So be deliberate what harvest you hope to reap, and sow accordingly.

Resist the urge to surrender to momentary emotions by venting hurtful words that may maim for years to come. Instead let hard words be chosen with care that they might break that they can bind, so healing can blossom forth. Speak life, and do so with love. Let your words reflect Me and My heart. Sow with Intention

Galatians 6:7 (NLT) Don’t be misled–you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

Beloved, do not deceive yourself or allow yourself to be misled. You cannot sow in selfishness, and reap a harvest of blessing. Nor can you sow in unrighteous judgment, and think to reap in mercy.

Sow with intention. To reap a harvest of love, sow love – sow compassion and forgiveness. To reap a harvest of blessing, sow generously and with wisdom. Make wise choices, beloved, and be intentional to delight in the things of Me, for I AM a God of justice, and only I can satisfy.

Thwart Worry’s Attacks

Proverbs 12:25 (VOICE) The weight of worry drags us down, but a good word lightens our day.

Beloved, worry is a bully and a thief. It steals your peace and your time, all while agitating you and causing discomfort. So refuse to engage. Resist the urge to get sucked into its energy-depleting cycles and instead rest in Me.

When worries come to weigh you down, speak My truth to yourself. Be intentional to remind yourself of who I AM and who you are to Me. You don’t need to fear, for I AM faithful and good, and I love My children. So thwart worry’s attack by being steadfast in My truth and trusting My sovereignty.

Sow Well

Psalm 9:15 (TPT) For the godless nations get trapped in the very snares they set for others. The hidden trap they set for the weak has snapped shut upon themselves—guilty!

Beloved, resist the urge to become ensnared in worldly intrigues. Rather focus your heart on Me, and refuse to shift your gaze. Trust Me to be your defender and protector, for I love My children. Know that even when the days of trial come, I AM always with you.

Resist the urge to worry about how those who’ve done you wrong will pay. For I will not be mocked. What you sow, you reap. So those who sow wickedness, will reap in kind. And those who sow in blessing will do so as well. Simply focus on sowing well, and leave the rest to Me.

Galatians 6:7 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Be Intentional and Consistent in Your Choice

John 4:15 (VOICE) Woman:  Please, Sir, give me some of this water, so I’ll never be thirsty and never again have to make the trip to this well.

Beloved, it is not enough that I make Myself available to you. It is not enough that I give you My Word as bread to sustain and the water of My Spirit to refresh. You must choose Me. You must choose the things of Me. So be intentional and consistent in your choice.

For if you desire to pour out, you must have reserves to draw from. If you move in your own strength, you will quickly find yourself depleted. But if you stand as a conduit – arms raised to receive, and then allow Me to flow through you, then and only then will you move in true power.

Fountain of Life

Proverbs 10:19 (VOICE) The more you talk, the more likely you will cross the line and say the wrong thing; but if you are wise, you’ll speak less and with restraint.

Beloved, be circumspect with your words, for it is far too easy to get carried away and indulge yourself with worthless chatter. Rather it would be wise to pause before speaking to consider the value of what you want to say.

Weigh your words to determine if they bring life, hope, and encouragement, or if they bring doubt, hurt, and fear. Choose wisely, and choose intentionally. Show yourself wise by guarding your tongue, and being intentional to have your words be a fountain of life.

Sweet Aroma of Love

John 14:15 (NKJV) “If you love Me, keep My commandments.

Beloved, the greatest obedience comes from a joyful heart, yielded in love. It isn’t trying to earn anything – not favor or salvation (as though that could be earned), but rather it is given freely, as a gift – unreservedly and with joy.

When a child is young, a good parent teaches them not to lie; and if the child does lie, there are consequences. But when the child becomes an adult, no longer can the parent compel them to obedience or bring punishment for transgression. But what a sweet gift is the adult’s adherence to the parent’s precept. Truly, it is the sweet aroma of love. Just as it is when you choose to make My ways your own, and do so joyfully.
