YHVH Gibbor Milchamah (the Lord Mighty in Battle) {Moments with God}

{I declare} There is none like You. No one worthy – no one who can compare. No one can stand against You. And should they try, they would melt like wax before You if they stood as Your adversary. For there is no one like You in heaven or on earth. You are majestic and awesome – mighty beyond our comprehension. So I choose to stand with You. And come what may, I will remain steadfast, for by Your side is the only place I want to be. So where You are, I will be too. I trust You. I yield to Your plans. You are mighty and You are good. You are the Holy One. You are YHVH Gibbor Milchamah – the Lord Mighty in Battle. And You are worthy.

{Sensing the Lord’s presence hovering – like with the pillars of cloud and fire. In the same way Moses refused to move without the presence of the Almighty, so my heart stands fast with His presence. And I sense His pleasure over my unwillingness to move without Him. It’s as if He is giving a look that says, “Well done.”}

Psalm 76:7 (TPT) No wonder you are greatly feared! You are the awe-inspiring God! For who could ever stand before your face when your fierce anger burns and live to tell about it.

Exodus 33:15 (VOICE) If Your presence doesn’t travel with me, then don’t lead us away from here.

Be Strengthened in Me

Psalm 91:1 (TPT) When you sit enthroned under the shadow of Shaddai, you are hidden in the strength of God Most High.

Beloved, I AM ever with you – in every moment and any circumstance, I AM YHVH Shammah (the Lord is present). What can touch you as you hide under My wing? What harm can come when you are in My care? Indeed, rest in Me – the Maker of heaven and earth, for I AM God.

So rest, enthroned with Me and under My covering. Take your place of authority and influence even as you dwell with Me. Reflect Me. Hide in Me. Be strengthened in Me, for I AM El Shaddai – the all-sufficient One, find what you need in Me. I AM good and I AM able, so trust your care to Me. Hide in My strength, and draw your strength from Me.  Continue reading “Be Strengthened in Me”

Praised Throughout the Nations

Psalm 68:4 (CJB) But let the righteous rejoice and be glad in God’s presence; yes, let them exult and rejoice.

Beloved, may I be praised throughout the nations. May the sounds of rejoicing and exultation resound, for I AM worthy of all praise. So bring forth your unreserved, sincere offerings from a heart overflowing with gratitude and love.

Lift your voice and lift your hands – praise offerings before your King. Dance before My throne – unhindered and unashamed – in complete abandon, hold nothing back. For I AM worthy of your all, and I find pleasure in your offering.

Be Swept Away in a Romance with Me

Psalm 45:11 (VOICE) Because the king yearns for your beauty, humble yourself before him, for he is now your lord.

Beloved, no words could begin to express the depth of My love. I yearn for you with a fervor that cannot be quenched. If you hunger and thirst for Me, it does not leave Me simply lavishing in your love. Rather that passion of feeling might begin to match the intensity of Mine.

Refuse to hold back. Refuse to guard your heart with Me. Glory in the fullness of a love affair with Me. Then watch as it bears fruit – both the loving and the receiving of love acting as powerful life- and atmosphere-changers. So be swept away in a romance with Me.  Continue reading “Be Swept Away in a Romance with Me”

Devote Yourself to Me

Psalm 92:12 (VOICE) Those who are devoted to God will flourish like budding date-palm trees; they will grow strong and tall like cedars in Lebanon.

Beloved, devote yourself to Me – not because of promised blessings, but simply because you love Me. But trust that blessings will come forth. For I AM, and I AM a rewarder of those who seek Me wholeheartedly.

How can I not want to lavish those I love with blessing? Resist the urge to look with avaricious eyes – only looking for blessing in finances or material things. Realize instead that I bless in a multitude of ways that are far less tangible.

I bless with peace, joy, favor, and so many other ways. So simply devote yourself to Me without focus on what you may gain. But then watch with keen eyes as My blessings abound around you.  Continue reading “Devote Yourself to Me”

Be Filled with Wonder

Psalm 26:7 (VOICE) From my soul, I will join the songs of thanksgiving; I will sing and proclaim Your wonder and mystery.

Beloved, come to Me like a child – wide eyed and filled with wonder. Ask Me a million questions – you will never wear Me out. I delight in you, and I have wired your curiosity, so resist the urge to be “adult” and tamp it down. Let your exuberance burst forth. Hold nothing back.

Be wide-eyed and mystified as you relentlessly pursue deeper understanding. Be dogged in your quest for truth. The things of Me are worth the effort, and the intimacy gained in your treasure hunt is prize enough alone. Be swept away in the mystery of Me.

Cheerful Praise

Psalm 89:15 (VOICE) How happy are those who have learned how to praise You; those who journey through life by the light of Your face.

Beloved, look to Me to light your path, and rejoice in the glory of My rays. Let your joy overflow, and embrace the journey – may it be filled with praise for the Giver of Life. For I AM worthy, so hold nothing back.

So may cheerful praise be your constant companion, and may your mind ever dwell on the beauty of My love. Let your heart overflow with streams of gratitude, and may your countenance ever reflect My glory.

Love Freely and Lavishly Bestowed {Moments with God}

{He whispers} My beloved, I delight in you. You’ve captured My gaze and hold Me enthralled.

{I hide my face} I’m unworthy. How can I be the one You choose?

{Gently He responds} Don’t hide your face from Me, beloved. This isn’t about worth or lack there of, this is the gift of My love – freely and lavishly bestowed on the one I have chosen. Simply receive.

{Eyes filled with wonder I respond} I don’t know how. How can I receive something I feel incapable of deserving? It feels like too much.

{With a kind smile He replies} It serves no purpose to reject it. It simply wastes the gift being given. Like a cool glass of water on a hot day, leaving it sitting in the glass to evaporate won’t quench your thirst nor will it benefit anyone else, and it wastes the effort of having retrieved it. So open your heart and let My love overflow and refresh. Let it bring healing to the dry and cracked places in your heart. I AM beholding you, and I find you beautiful. I have called you My own. You are Mine, so receive.

{With my heart and hands open, I receive}

Psalm 45:11 (TPT) For your royal Bridegroom is ravished by your beautiful brightness. Bow in reverence before him, for he is your Lord!

Breathe Me In {Moments with God}

{my heart cries} Father, why do You feel so far away. Where are You as the waves of grief and sadness crash over me seeking to crush my very soul? I know that You are YHVH Shammah – You are present. Intellectually, I know You’re here, probably even holding Me in Your loving embrace – so why can’t I feel Your touch?

{my heart reaches out, like a hand extending, seeking the Father’s heart – asking Him to tighten His grip that I might feel Him}

{He gently replies} Shift your focus, beloved. Stop looking at the grief and focusing on the pain. I’m right here with you – holding you so tight. I’m capturing each tear and counting each hair on your head – every part of you and every thought and concern of your heart of the utmost importance to Me. Yes, beloved, pause and shift your focus to Me. Reach out to Me and feel My grip. I AM here. I AM present. I will never leave you. Stand fast and breathe. Breathe Me in. Be comforted by the wind of My Spirit – refreshing, renewing, bringing hope. Breathe Me in, for I AM here to strengthen you. You are the apple of My eye and I love you. Be still and let Me saturate you with My love. Just breathe.

Psalm 10:1 (VOICE) Why, O Eternal One, are You so far away? Why can’t You be found during troubling times?

Delve into the Mysteries of Me

Psalm 78:2,4 (VOICE) I will open my mouth in parables; I will speak of ancient mysteries— We will not keep these things secret from their children; rather, we will tell the coming generation All about the praise that is due to the Eternal One. We will tell them all about His strength, power, and wonders.

Beloved, delve into the mysteries of Me. There is such beauty in knowing and being known – such joy and depth of affection in the intimacy of understanding. Just as a couple that has been married for decades and who are deeply in love can finish one another’s sentences and preemptively anticipate each other’s needs and wants, so I desire that intimacy with you.

I want you to know how I think – to feel confident in how I move. I want you to be intimately aware of the mysteries that make Me who I AM, just as I know you and all the mysteries that make up who you are. From that depth of understanding comes an unshakable foundation of trust and appreciation. It is worth the effort to cultivate. So delve into the mysteries of Me and see the beauty that comes forth, beloved, and then share Me with the world.
