The Confines of Your Understanding

Isaiah 55:8 (NLT) “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.

Beloved, resist the urge to try to contain Me within the confines of your understanding. I’m not a god of your making – one that can be controlled, manipulated, or fully understood. But just because you don’t always understand Me, does not mean I’m not good.

I AM good, and My ways are good. My heart is to bless and prosper My children, and to draw all into relationship with Me through My great love. So yield control to Me, and release your need to understand. Walk in childlike faith, trusting My character and My nature and My heart for you.

Keenly Attuned

Psalm 17:6 (VOICE) I am crying aloud to You, O True God, for I long to know Your answer. Hear me, O God. Hear my plea. Hear my prayer for help.

Beloved, I AM keenly attuned to your voice. I don’t miss one utterance that falls from your lips. I know you so well that I don’t miss even your unspoken heart cries. I hear them all. I AM always ready and I AM always listening.

In the same way a good parent would not sit back and watch as their child struggled and drowned, know that I too am keenly attentive to your every need, so you don’t have to beg for My help or My attention – I give it freely. I listen to each whisper, and anticipate every need. So trust that I AM with you and that I will never leave.

Psalm 17:5-8 (VOICE) I will press on —moving steadfastly forward along Your path. I will not look back. I will not stumble. I am crying aloud to You, O True God, for I long to know Your answer. Hear me, O God. Hear my plea. Hear my prayer for help. Put Your marvelous love on display for all to see. Liberator of those who long for shelter beside You, set them safely away from their enemies, ever welcomed by grace. Keep close watch over me as the apple of Your eye; shelter me in the shadow of Your wings.

Trust My Perspective

Psalm 91:13-14 (AMP) You will tread upon the lion and cobra; The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. “Because he set his love on Me, therefore I will save him; I will set him [securely] on high, because he knows My name [he confidently trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never abandon him, no, never].

Beloved, even as you walk through the times of trouble and things that threaten your safety, still I AM in your midst. I hold you securely both in good times and bad – in easy and in challenging, I AM with you through it all. So resist the urge to fear or to react rather than respond from a place of peace and love.

My love casts out all fear, and the understanding of who I AM (and who I have made you to be) lift you above circumstance. As you rest in the knowledge that any challenge you encounter is one I will lead you through, you can be at peace regardless of outcome. Trust My Love for You

Psalm 84:9 (TPT) God, your wrap-around presence is our defense. In your kindness look upon the faces of your anointed ones.

Beloved, I go before you, and I AM your rear guard. Nothing comes near you without My knowing. And I AM with you, sustaining you. My attention never wavers. Trust yourself into My care. Step into My loving arms and let Me hold you close when you’re afraid.

Fullness of Joy

Psalm 84:4 (TPT) What pleasure fills those who live every day in your temple, enjoying you as they worship in your presence! Pause in his presence

Beloved, in Me you’ll find fullness of joy – not simply joy, but the fullness of it. A joy that is complete. Missing nothing. For I AM that I AM. And I AM the God who created you. I intimately know your frame.

Yield to My plans. Surrender your will to Mine, and rest in Me. Cast your cares on Me and walk in the freedom I have provided for you. Refuse to be shackled by worry, fear, or grief. Beloved, as you wait in expectation, be obedient when instruction comes. Resist the urge to rely on your own knowledge, for I see what you do not. Therefore, I will often prepare you for events that are unexpected by you. In those moments, if you judge My instructions in the natural, you may be tempted to ignore them or take a different action.

Beloved, trust that I see what you do not, and trust that I will prepare you. For just as Noah built an ark in preparation for a catastrophic flood though no rain had yet fallen, so I will prepare you for that which is seen and unseen – if you will but obey. Continue reading “Prepare for Rain”

Trust Me to Multiply Your Impact

Joshua 23:10 (NET) One of you makes a thousand run away, for the LORD your God fights for you as he promised you he would.

Beloved, trust Me to multiply your impact when you act in conjunction with Me. For I AM the Lord your God who gives strength. I lift men up and make them great, and I cause the proud to stumble.

I fiercely love My children. Those who have chosen Me and yield to Me, operate in My power and under My authority – in My name. I AM for you and I operate on your behalf, so move in step with Me.

Trust Me Wholeheartedly and Obey

2 John 1:6 (VOICE) Love is defined by our obedience to His commands. This is the same command you have known about from the very beginning; you must live by it.

Beloved, if you say you love Me, but disregard My Word, your actions prove false your professions of love. If you wrote detailed instructions for a loved one, gave it to them and they set it aside and never read it, or read it and ignored your instructions favoring their own misguided decisions – would that demonstrate reciprocated love to you? Indeed not.

For when we truly love someone, we listen to them. We respect their authority. We heed their counsel. So beloved, what does your response to My Word say about your feelings for Me? Do you follow My instructions only when you agree with them or have deemed them to make sense? Or do you trust Me enough to relinquish control and obey in faith – trusting if I’ve given instruction, there must be good cause, even if you are unaware of it.

Demonstrate your love for Me by your obedience. You are welcome to ask questions, but choose to yield to Me even if I do not to answer, trusting that even in My lack of response, I have good cause. Refuse to be derailed or allow pride or rebellion to hinder your path. Trust Me wholeheartedly and obey.

Step Forward Prepared

Psalm 131:2 (VOICE) Of one thing I am certain: my soul has become calm, quiet, and contented in You. Like a weaned child resting upon his mother, I am quiet. My soul is like this weaned child.

Beloved, a good parent prepares his child for what lies ahead, and I AM a good Father. So step forward prepared – knowing you are ready for whatever comes. For I AM with you always, and I walk beside you – and ever will I stay.

So be calm, beloved. Rest, and be content. Quiet your soul, and trust in Me. For I will never leave you friendless, nor abandon you to grief. Stand fast and rest safely in My hands as you step forward prepared by Me.

Step Where I Lead

Psalm 128:1 (VOICE) Those who stand in awe of the Eternal— who follow wherever He leads, committed in their hearts— experience His blessings!

Beloved, resist the urge to make your own path, but rather trust, and step where I lead. For blessing lies the way of obedience, so choose to honor Me. May My Word lead you, My hand guide you, and My Spirit counsel you as you seek hard after Me.

Be committed in your heart to a way of life and truth. For on My path is the place you’ll find the best I have for you. Choose humility, and yield control as you give all to Me. I’ll lead you well, My precious one, as you step where I lead. Continue reading “Step Where I Lead”
