My Favored One

Isaiah 61:7 (NLT) Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.

Beloved, I have not called you to be unimportant, overlooked, or shamed. I have anointed you to be an overcomer. In Me and by My Spirit, you walk in victory and grace. So grab hold of that identity with both hands and refuse to let go.

You are My favored one – covered in My goodness and blessing. You lack no good thing. Take stock and see with new eyes the blessings that surround you. Be intentional to focus on gratitude rather on your perceived lack. Trust Me, and trust My hand on your life.

Grace-Filled Progress

Psalm 86:15 (TPT) But Lord, your nurturing love is tender and gentle. You are slow to get angry yet so swift to show your faithful love. You are full of abounding grace and truth.

Beloved, I’m not impatient with you. Nor am I frustrated when you’re slow to learn. I know when your heart is set on Me. So even in the moments you fall short, I see your imperfect progress for what it is: progress.

Resist the urge to become frustrated with yourself when you’re slower to change and grow than you’d like. For the energy is wasted, and much better spent helping you focus on continued progress – regardless of how slow you may find it.

I AM patient. I support you. I believe in you. I AM with you. I’m guiding you. Reflect the same grace to yourself that I do. And remember, I AM all you need.

Psalm 86:13-17 (TPT) You love me so much and you placed your greatness upon me. You rescued me from the deepest place of darkness, and you have delivered me from a certain death. God, look at how these arrogant ones have defied me. Like a vicious band of violent men they have tried to kill me. They wouldn’t worry for a moment that they were sinning against you! But Lord, your nurturing love is tender and gentle. You are slow to get angry yet so swift to show your faithful love. You are full of abounding grace and truth. Bring me to your grace-fountain so that your strength becomes mine. Be my hero and come rescue your servant once again! Send me a miraculous sign to show me how much you love me, so that those who hate me will see it and be ashamed. Don’t they know that you, Lord, are my comforter, the one who comes to help me?

Be a God-Pleaser

Psalm 86:13 (TPT) You love me so much and you placed your greatness upon me. You rescued me from the deepest place of darkness, and you have delivered me from a certain death.

Beloved, there is no pit so deep I can’t snatch you from it. No trap so hidden I can’t see it. As you align yourself with Me and yield to My leading, you are empowered with My wisdom, grace, and favor.

I AM the One who lifts men up and makes them great. I AM the One who grants honor and favor. So look to Me and make the praise and criticism of men of no importance to you. Simply be a God-pleaser, and see what we can accomplish together.

Pause to Remember

Psalm 86:7 (TPT) Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way.

Beloved, in moments of hardship and trial, remember who I AM. Remind yourself of all I have done, and trust that I’ll do it again. Just as I moved miraculously to procure freedom for the Israelites from Egypt only to have them cry at the Red Sea and accuse Me of trying to do them harm, so are the memories short for many of My children.

Pause to remember, for you know who I AM, and what I AM capable of. I’m the God of the impossible, worker of miracles – Lord of Hosts am I. And I stand beside you, and I’ll never leave you. So rest surely in the safety of My steadfast love.

Psalm 86:5-8 (TPT) Lord, you are so good to me, so kind in every way and ready to forgive, for your grace-fountain keeps overflowing, drenching all your lovers who pray to you. God, won’t you pay attention to this urgent cry? Lord, bend down to listen to my prayer. Whenever trouble strikes, I will keep crying out to you, for I know your help is on the way. God, there’s no one like you; there’s no other god as famous as you. You outshine all others and your miracles make it easy to know you.

See Things Differently

Psalm 86:6 (TPT) God, won’t you pay attention to this urgent cry? Lord, bend down to listen to my prayer.

Beloved, in the moments that all seem lost or that it feels like chaos surrounds you, pause to see things differently. You know that I love you – that I’m steadfast and true, that I will never leave you. You know that I’m able, and that I move on your behalf, so look again at what is around you.

What you see as hardship may be an opportunity for growth. That cruelty from someone may be an opportunity to extend grace and forgiveness. Resist the urge to assume the worst, and instead consider you may be missing something. So look again, beloved, and rest in My love. For I AM faithful, and you are dearly loved.

Tarry with Me

Luke 10:42 (TPT) Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

Beloved, I AM not one to play cruel games. I will not draw you in to suddenly spurn you, nor cause you to trust only to desert or humiliate you. I AM faithful and I AM true. When you choose Me, I stand with you, and I will not turn away nor turn you away.

So tarry with Me. Give Me your undivided attention. Let Me love on you and we can share the deep things of the heart. If you want to be with Me, I will make sure you are able to be. For you are never too much for Me. You’re exactly as I’ve made you – beautiful in every way, and you’ve captivated My heart. So tarry with Me.

Luke 10:38-42 (TPT) As Jesus and the disciples continued on their journey, they came to a village where a woman welcomed Jesus into her home. Her name was Martha and she had a sister named Mary. Mary sat down attentively before the Master, absorbing every revelation he shared. But Martha became exasperated by finishing the numerous household chores in preparation for her guests, so she interrupted Jesus and said, “Lord, don’t you think it’s unfair that my sister left me to do all the work by myself? You should tell her to get up and help me.” The Lord answered her, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Are they really that important? Mary has discovered the one thing most important by choosing to sit at my feet. She is undistracted, and I won’t take this privilege from her.”

Currency of Time

Luke 10:41 (TPT) The Lord answered her, “Martha, my beloved Martha. Why are you upset and troubled, pulled away by all these many distractions? Are they really that important?

Beloved, pause to ponder what keeps you from Me. Are they things that are truly important? And if not, what need or desire are they filling? Is it one I can fulfill? There is no shame in having activities in your life, for I AM with you even as you “go and do”; however, it’s easy to be drawn away from the things that truly matter by fruitless, time-killing activities, or things of high urgency, but low importance.

Each moment of your life is a gift, and only I know the number of your days. So spend your currency of time wisely and intentionally. Moments of silly fun can be beautifully refreshing, and yet if that is the fullness of your life, it’s like dining on cotton candy alone. It lacks in substance and sustenance. So choose wisely, for the days are short, and time “wasted” on Me is never wasted. So press in, beloved, and find your life in Me.

Look for My Fingerprints

Psalm 1:1 (VOICE) God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn…

Beloved, as you live your life firmly rooted in Me, blessings await you at every turn. Refuse to be blind to that which has been lavished on you simply because it takes a different form than you expected.

Make a game of finding My fingerprints on the blessings that surround you. Look for My winks from heaven that acknowledge the intimacy between us. For I AM present, and I AM moving. So see My hand at work and give glory to Me.

Psalm 1:1-3 (VOICE) God’s blessings follow you and await you at every turn: when you don’t follow the advice of those who delight in wicked schemes, When you avoid sin’s highway, when judgment and sarcasm beckon you, but you refuse. For you, the Eternal’s Word is your happiness. It is your focus—from dusk to dawn. You are like a tree, planted by flowing, cool streams of water that never run dry. Your fruit ripens in its time; your leaves never fade or curl in the summer sun . No matter what you do, you prosper.

Rich Soil of Intimacy

Psalm 17:5 (VOICE) I will press on —moving steadfastly forward along Your path. I will not look back. I will not stumble.

Beloved, be set in your purpose and be steadfast. Refuse to be blown about, or shaken by the winds and waves around you. Remain true to your heart – true to your purpose. Allow your dove eyes to lead you.

A dove’s eyes are gentle and singular in focus. So allow yours to remain fixed on Me, just as Mine stay fixed on you. For you are the object of My affection – My beloved, My precious one. Dwell in this place of intimacy with Me, and let us linger here that life may pour forth from its rich soil. Continue reading “Rich Soil of Intimacy”

Intentional Focus

Philippians 3:14 (TPT) I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.

Beloved, be singularly focused on your eternal prize. For as you focus on that destination, your journey will align to the best path. Refuse to be distracted by obstacles that seem to hinder your way. For what you focus on, you make room for. So be intentional to focus on the goal ahead rather than that which will lead you astray.

As the eyes of your heart stay fixed, your footsteps will not wander. So may your journey be steady and steadfast, and may your gaze be ever true. Continue reading “Intentional Focus”
